This describes what the portal at portal.soundproacademy.com actually collects, why, and who else can see it. It is written from the code rather than from a template, so it is short - there is not much.
Soundliminal LLC, 30 N Gould St, Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA, trading as Sound Pro Academy, is the data controller for the portal. For anything in this policy, write to a.administration@soundproacademy.com.
This covers the portal at portal.soundproacademy.com and nothing else. Our other sites, funnels and checkouts have their own policies, and anything arranged with you directly is covered by whatever was agreed there.
Paid plugins check that the account signing in owns them. To count machines against your licence, the plugin sends a one-way hash of two hardware identifiers, plus the name your computer calls itself. The raw identifiers never leave your machine, and the hash cannot be turned back into them - it only lets us tell one computer apart from another. You can see and free your own machines from the portal at any time.
Free plugins contain no licensing code at all. Once installed they never contact us again.
There is no analytics on this site. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no TikTok pixel, no heatmaps, no session recording, no advertising cookies, and no cross-site tracking of any kind.
We do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not build a profile of you for anyone else's purposes.
Running the portal means a handful of companies process parts of it on our behalf. This is the complete list.
| Who | What they handle | When |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Your account, your progress, what you own, and the files you download. | Whenever you are signed in. |
| Resend | Sends our email. Sees your address and the message. | When we email you. |
| Vimeo | Hosts course videos. We load the player with Vimeo's do-not-track flag set, so it does not profile you. | Only on a course page you own. |
| Stripe | Sells and takes payment as merchant of record, and issues your receipt. You are sent to their page; your card never touches ours. | Only when you click to buy. |
| Google Fonts & jsDelivr | Serve the typefaces and one code library. They see your IP address because your browser requests a file from them. | On every page load. |
| Netlify | Serves the site itself. | On every page load. |
Some of these are in the United States. Where your data leaves the UK or EEA, it does so under the transfer safeguards those providers publish.
We set no advertising or analytics cookies, so there is no consent banner to click through. Signing in stores a session token in your browser so you stay signed in - that is strictly necessary to log you in at all, and clearing your browser data removes it. Vimeo may set its own cookies when a video player loads, which is why we ask it not to track you.
If you are in the UK or EEA you have the right to see what we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, take it elsewhere, and object to how we use it. If you are in California you have comparable rights, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.
In practice: write to a.administration@soundproacademy.com and we will do it. You do not need to give a reason. You can also unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom of it, which takes effect immediately and needs no account.
If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to your national data protection authority - in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office.
The portal is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will say so on the portal rather than quietly editing the date at the top.
